Vinyard Sound- outrageous fishing
Fished the sound with Eric "Hairball" Staplegtate of Hairball charters. We spanked em good. Over 50 Keepers in 10 hrs of fishing. 10 fish over 37", biggest fish went to a 40" double, both were released to see another day. That kind of action won't last but it was nice. Ooo my arms are sore.

Nah, have'nt caught a bluefin in 2 years when I went out for the first time to Stellwagen with a buddy. We got 3 45"-50" babies in 3 hours. But that's another "story" as you say. Anyways those fish in the sound are already history, water temps already past 60. If you were there and knew what you were doing you could have done the same or better.

RE: Vinyard Sound- outrageous fishing
Of course he's not becauese it never happened. I fished all over the sound this week, and nothing like that has been happening. There is some great fishing, but why would someone make a post like this one saying "I caught a lot of fish, but too late now, they're gone", without any detail or real information? Just some clown with nothing better to do.

Hey Tunnie, I think your the clown if you did'nt catch any fish. Wire and jigs, nothing special, just right place at right time. Almost everyone else was trolling the middle ground rip. We were in 30-40 feet of water inside. Is that enough info for you. By the way, if you were there, what boat were you running?

RE: Vinyard Sound- outrageous fishing
Alright its not worth getting into a flame war over. 50 fish in 10hrs on wire and jigs? That's believable, but seeing as this is a FLYFISHING forum, it will bring such a response when you fail to mention that. Everyone with a boat fishes that place and cleans up, its a no-brainer.
I run a 20ft JB LT, no name, on the water 5 days a week, but you'll probably never see me.

Yeah, I hear what your saying, but I figured any info, that's reliable, is helpful. Is it possible to fish that area with a fly? By and by, I grew up in Somerville, lived on Summer st. I'm wondering if there's a chance that I know you

Agreed. Peace. Its possible we've crossed. I live off Highland Ave in Somerville now, but didn't grow up there. I'm down on the cape/mv most days now though.
