Pleasnant Bay shore spots

I will be venturing down to the Chatham area next weekend and was looking for some direction in Pleasant Bay. I have never been there and was looking for a few good spots to fly/spin fish from. Can anyone give me a recomendation?? Thanks in advance.

RE: Pleasnant Bay shore spots

Ok, I can give you some spots but do not know the st. names...There is one nice spot just accross from strong island if you get on the beach and walk down to the right facing the island there is a good rip with a deep hole there are boats on morings there you will notice the rip and a spit of land, there is also one other place I have found if you head towards Chatham light, you will go past Chatham Barrs there is a road on the left that says it is a public access to the beach. There if you head to the left or the right there are some good rips depending on the tide. I am also planning on being there this coming weekend hope to be on the water by 4:30am, I will be spinning...hope to see you there.

There is a town landing at the end of Strong Island Rd. 9z809ub&aphoto=0&SNVData=3mad3-h.fy%28w2a9r7_%29y1wgzr%3bah7-%3d%5b2au%3d2wh%5dGV%14BLU%2bOGC%12%11%15%2b%14Q%2 4%2bRMVVV%17F%3a%2bEV%3a%2bGG_%3d%3a%28%11E%3arn0u y2%3d%3dzwhyt5%3d0,rb%3b7%3bb5m-r2qfj5m%3be10h%284,vkj3m%28%5b2au%3d2wh%5dGV%14BLU %2bOGC%12%11%15%2b%14Q%24%2bRMVVV%17F%3a%2bEV%3a%2 bGG&pcat=

I used it this weekend as a launch site for my yak and yesterday morning I almost paddled over a Striper in the 40s. It was only 10' from shore in very shallow water and just exploded in front of me and shot off.... who needs coffee in the morning with a start like that. Anyway, there were flyguys working the incoming tide here.

RE: Pleasnant Bay shore spots

P-bay has been a "pleasant" surprise this season. Usually by now, the boats seem to do a lot better than the shore crowd, but the shore fishing has really held up. Especially FF.

Get a map and try any of the town landings at night or early AM. You'll probably need to walk to find some decent structure. Moving water is best.

The only Un-Pleasant part has been the bugs. The lower bay seems to have less, only because there is more wind exposure. But some form of repellent or netting is a must.

Hey, thanks for all that info guys. I will be there on Sat. either morning or evening. Hopefully I can find some nice water with hungry bass.
