Canal Party to Frustrations to West Falmouth

Saturday-

Figured I'd work Canal this weekend. Went down mid-afternoon to Maritime-RR Bridge area. Biggest party I've seen in there ever. Fished last hour of west and caught 2-3 hours of East. Absolutely unreal action. I made crazy walk down rocks and lined up behind about five guys throwing cut mackeral and jigs into rip. A ton of Bass had Bunker buried up against a rip. It was awesome. Since it was impossible to throw flies I just bided my time waiting for these guys to move. Two guys left after catching some nice 30 inch bass. Finally I got opportunity to move in and position myself. Within 1/2 hour I had 300 bass literally jumping over my sandals on rocks. I could see the fish were coming right up to rocks knocking bunker everywhere up into rocks. The fish weren't scared of me at all. I could literally throw my line, just the leader into the water and pull fish. Unreal. The action went on for 2 hours. Most fish were 18-22 inches. Eventually school worked off and some larger fish moved in. I saw some 36 inch bass come right up to the rocks hammer bait and turn away. Couldn't set hook on any of these fish to my dissappointment but oh well.

No signs of Tuna at least when I was there.

Sunday-

Canal:
Fired up action to a friend and went down. Same tide, Same bait, Same time, Same Sun, pretty much the same conditions except wind direction. No fish. Saw some possible tuna schools on Mud flats side.

Very frustrating. I guess the traveling lane is much wider here unlike on the flats.

West Falmouth:

Saved day with a couple very small bass. This water is far from at it's peak for this time of year unfortunately.
