Morocco

I have an opportunity to visit my daughter who is studying in Rabat Morocco. She reports the waves are "humongus" and that she has seen Moroccans with very long fishing poles. Anyone know if saltwater flyfishing is feasible in Morocco? Thanks, Ted Rzepski

RE: Morocco

The atlantic coast of Morocco will probably be a bit rough for Flyfishing and the beaches shelve very quickly to deep water. Some very good bluewater fising just off shore for sails and some Dorado and Tuna if you can find anyone to take you out,The bait fishing from the beach should be very good ,Guitarfish, Cassava, Snapper etc and sharks. Big beach casting gear is probably more the order of the day than Fly gear. Hope this helps if you are still stuck Email me as I have some books on fishing on the West Coast of Africa. I run fishing holidays in Gambia and Senegal , very similar coastline Regards Richard .rswsf@aol.com
