Stopped by the herring run on the nemasket river in middleboro this morning, bunch of alewives moving up. Watched a river otter chasing after them in the shallows pretty funny.
Hi Tim: I spotted an Osprey doing lazy circles above the Presumpscot. The sap is starting to run. I also heard rumors of a 30" striper caught through the ice on some trib of the Kennebec. Have you heard anything about that? It comes from a reputable source in the Mid-coast region of Maine. Barry Woods
No have not heard about that fish,but it's possible I suppose. From what I understand back when the Kennebec had it's original spawning run the commercial smelt fisherman used to get stripers in there quite often.
