Can't Decide...8# or 9#

Need to fill the gap between my 7# and 10#. Should it be a 9# or an 8#. Application is striper fishing mostly from a boat but also some wading. Also will be used for travel so must be a 4 piece and will be eventually filling in the gap left to complete the 7, 8, 9, 10# lineup. Which should be next??

RE: Can't Decide...8# or 9#

Hi Rocky...If I was you I would choose a #9...Since you fish from a boat alot you will need a more lifting power than from the beach. I have 7-10wt rods and fish the #9 80% of the time....Good luck!...Jeff

RE: Can't Decide...8# or 9#

Hi Rocky,
I would go with the 8 myself. Can't justify it, just think they are a great allrounder. All the same, its just splitting hairs, but thats part of the fun!
How's the rod building going? What color wraps you go with? Were you a good boy and use the titanium fugi single foots? :-);
I'm going to order my glx mega 8 wt blank soon, got any suggestions for what color wraps and trim? (I was the kid in school with only 8 colors in my crayola box, and "salmon" was none of them ;-);
Take care,
greg

Grego.......Que pasa? Hey I heard youse guys got fish down there..true??
Hmmm I keep vasilating back and forth 8 or 9. The only real solution is to get both!!;-));
#7 is ready to finish. The T&T SC is built on a blue blank which I wrapped w/navy blue and trimmed w/ice blue metallic. Took your advise and used titanium framed SICs.
What color is the GLX? Black?? If so, try charcoal w/inlaid black metallic trim. Enjoy!!
