My brother-in-law is Chinese and really got into fishing last summer for bluefish .... he lives in Beijing, I'll forward your post to him and see what he says.

We need pictures!

Any FF in and around Hong Kong?

I will be in South East Asia (mostly Hong Kong) for about a month on business mid May to mid June. While I wouldn't touch anything dredged up from HK harbor on any line with hook or other, I am wondering if there's any decent fishing outside the harbor or down the coast that would be worth pursuing. Anyone have any experience here?

Fishing in Hong Kong & Shanghai

Word is it's fished out...

but the good news is they have set up several protection areas.

Here is a link to a bit about Plover Cove which mentions the protection area.
Here is a listing (that looks mighty dubious) of Hong Kong Gamefish

a little more info...

Wow, not a lot of info on Hangzhou...but everything I found says it is the best fishing area in all of China.

Here's one bit about their plan to create a recreational fishery.
