Question Looking to get started

I'm looking for a cheap way to get started, does anyone know of used yaks for sale, or any other cheap starter kits. I'll be using it in the salt (mostly calm flats) and don't know what to look for. Any help would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Fitzy

Heres 2 sites where you will be able to buy a used fishing kayak. You should check them out as frequently as possible cause kayaks are selling fast.
On the first site check out the message boards for kayak sales

On this site check out the classified section

Many rental stores "freshen up" their inventory at the beginning or end of the season. This often results in the older beat up gear getting sold off. Try calling some paddleshops and see what they have.

Good luck

I just bought a used kayak. Two sites I found useful were www.paddling.net which has lots of new classifieds every day and www.thewantad.com which is where I eventually bought one from. At The Want Ad you have to pay $1.75 online to view each new issue, they come out on Tuesdays I believe. But there are 20-30 kayak ads all in the New England area, or at least there were last week.

Question Rascal

What do you guys know about the Rascal kayaks? I saw an ad for one for $350. Is that a good kayak for fishing out of; I'm assuming that's a good deal?
Thanks,
Matt

beware

Rascal is the "little brother to the pungo". Similar hull shape but only 9'9" with a max capacity of 225#. This would be an OK boat for a smaller paddler in very sheltered waters but NOT for a big guy, extended paddles or exposed waters.
