Wednesday several huge schools of herring pushed up the Hudson River all the way to Albany. Catskill Creek (Rip Van Winkle Bridge) 30 miles south of Albany started giving up 18 to 24 inch striped bass this morning to bait fishermen. Shad are being netted as far north as Poughkeepsie, NY (Mid Hudson Bridge)
Water Temps. at Catskill, NY ar 46* in the River and 49* in Catskill Creek.
The catching part of the spawning run has begun. 58* will trigger the spawn itself.
