kayak rod choice

A 9' will work fine but a 9.5 or 10' will help keep you backcast up. Helpfull especially if your new at it. ( Yak fishing is like deep wading) Distance as mentioned isn't an issue. FWIW, I still preffer my 10' IMX when yak fishing.
