Cape Ice - Sat 3/1

Fished Lovers Pond in Chatham on Saturday. There were a couple of others on the ice as well. Did nothing for 2 hours until 4pm. Prompty, got three flags. Two nice bass and a perch. Both bass were over 16" and one was a female that was pretty laden with eggs.


Ice was mostly 8" with some 6" spots. Heaves and white ice were the rule, so spacing was important. Let's hope for one more cold week!

Sounds like a good day! Ice that thickness sounds good, too. Hope you can hold onto it for a week or more. I had to cut through 30" up here in Central Maine on Saturday! All I had was a 6" Swedish Mora hand auger. That thing was about maxed out. Next year I better budget for a power auger.
