Cape Oil Spill 7 times larger than announced...

This really, really bites...it wasn't 14,700 gallons, it's 98,000 gallons. Appears Bouchard lied...

Unfortunately, I am not surprized. Kind of like your kid calling you up to tell you he had an accident with your car. They are going to try and down play the amount of damage if they can.

Exactly...

They announce the spill, underestimate the gallonage, then correct it a couple weeks later when no one is paying attention anymore.

State says they're going to investigate.

I'm not surprised. That's the way it always happens.

Having fished the Bay side of the elizabeths (Quiks on up) from shore to maybe 2 miles out on Sunday. I can say I did not see, smell or observe any oil. Was it all pushed to the mainland side of the bay?

Now I know why I had those fish all to myself. It seems according to other boards there are no fish in the bay because of the oil spill.

That's okay

according to some of the other stuff I've read there aren't any fish in Boston Harbor either.

Oh well, we post our own clunkers too...I remember when I was taken by a report of a very large fly caught fish in 1997 - had it on good authority from two separate shops. But the guy never produced a photo or a fish to go with his story. After a week went by, we all knew we'd been had.

I do wonder if the oil has cut down on the numbers of fish choosing to head into the canal from the south. They've always got the choice to go out and around the the lower cape.

I do not think they lied or tried to deceive us. Its just their math skills are similar to their piloting skills.
