Shamrock Cove - 5/31
Texas Fly Fishers had their monthly outing Saturday on Shamrock Cove, just down the beach form Port Aransas. The wind was tough and the fishing, even tougher. Out of 13 anglers, one had 4 reds to 27", several had 1 and more than that had none. Personally, I had one blow up, and saw a couple of tailers that just disappeared before I could get a fly in front ot them. Also saw a large trout just laying there over a nice sand spot. I was a lot more interested in her than she was about my fly. All in all, it was a great day because we were all on the water.
'til then,
Tight Loops, AC
NOTE: Is there anyone out there with a sure fly to catch mullet? If not, I have got to develope one. The water was full of some huge mullet. I know where I am going the next time I need some Marlin bait.
