I will be back in NJ for Thanksgiving and plan to explore Sandy Hook for the second time ever. I understand from the fishwire that the place has been good recently but also know that things can change quickly at this time of the year. I guess I want to spend the most of my time on the ocean. As for my previous NJ weekend I will be at the Giants stadium on Sunday. Hope for a victory for a change.
Any help with Sandy Neck in November would be great.
I don't know what you'll find at the hook, but at the stadium, look for Tiki Barber to fumble, Kerry Collins to throw into coverage, and for several crucial passes to bounce off Amani Toomer's shoulder pads. Oh yeah, look for an angry crowd as well.
Try the inside of the Hook. The outside will be too rough since there is a storm coming. It may calm down enough on Sat. night, but I doubt it.
The inside will be OK regardless of the weather.
Found plenty of excuses for not going fishing: the rain, the wind, the cold weather. I should have tried on Friday but well ..... I did not. End of the saltwater season for me. Will try to catch a few more trouts before winterizing all the gear.
Was at Giants stadium on Sunday. I guess you saw or heard it all so I am not going to add my 2 cents but it was frustrating.
Heh PAX, someone at work told me he tried Sandy Hook Friday without luck - ugly weather, no signs of fish. Not sure how long he tried, but maybe you didn't miss much on that day.
