Peters Pond 1/10

Paid a visit to Peters Pond. The area just adjacent to the ramp and to the left had a very clear solid 3" of ice. To the right of the ramp and out 100' was a 200' x 100' stretch of open water. Probably due to the wind coming through the long area between the cove and the main body of the pond.

S&S has closed their shop due to a hike in the rent. I talked to Scott last month and he plans to find somewhere near the canal to reopen. For now that means a new source of shiners needs to be found on the cape during the winter months.

Oh and the fishing ... all I did was jig for 30 minutes. the line was building up quite a thick coat of ice. Kinda like dipping a wick into wax to make a candle. No hits.

Bob - The Bait Shack in (near the 6 / 6a off - ramp) Orleans is open during the winter months and has both large and small shiners. I normally hit there.
