POC report

Fished POC April 16-18 with Talbot3, who came down from from Rhode Island. Windy, to say the least. Tide was down a good 16", guess the norther had blown all the water to Cuba, not to mention the spring equinox deal. Couldn't fish my usual haunts.......too shallow. Did have a lot of fish activity Saturday. We wound up in a small cove after a morning of mostly boredom, a cove of about a foot deep, and were standing in the reds and trout. Great flyfishing. That Talbot3 is a master at casting..............shoulda seen him cast my 6wt an easy 80ft. in the 20+mph gale. Shoulda seen his grocery sack fulla flies he ties.............some really beautiful stuff..........makes mine look like something tied up at some pre-schooler kidergarten class at the State Hospital for the handicapped and blind. We released all we caught on Saturday, figuring we'd box a few on Sunday. Let go some really handsome trout and reds. Clousers on the longsticks, gold spoons and touts/assasins on the baitcasters. Sunday, Talbot3 caught 2 trout, I got skunked...........the fish had left the cove. Monday we didn't bother to launch the boat, the wind was rolling oyster shells across the parking lot..........forget it.

Will fish again soon at POC. Just rigged boat with oxygen for the live bait box...........shrimp and croaker on steroids! Look out!

Game, how's the fishin' down in your area? Ain't heard from you lately. I swear, I will get down yonder some day this summer.............ya wanna go fishin'.
