Galveston offshore 1st attempt
Took our 22foot Ranger boat out of Freeport Tx on the weekend. The water was pretty rough but we made it to the 1st oil rig. Saw a boat tied up the rig pulling in a large Kingfish. We did see a couple surface blitzes probably spanish macs and I had a few hits on a clouser but no solid hookups. Hopefully the surf dies down one of these weekends. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone out there flyfishes out of Freeport or Galveston. It would be nice to make a longer haul out say 30 miles or so but I would feel safer If I could partner up with a second boat in case the engine fails etc...Jeremy
