Probably not a good idea, unless the wind & seas die down.

I went out at 5:30 this morning in Manchester (just 4 fish-3 scoolies and a #33-34) was pretty well protected until the no wake zone-then winds and chop picked up substantially and was getting worse when I packed it in around 9 am- took me forever to get back with current and winds against me-

The ocean side is rough, the harbor side, close to the island just looks windy with some boat wakes.

I launched at that other boat ramp across the harbor in back of police station. I spooked a ton of fish on my way out of harbor- right where you probably caught yours- I thought they were micro schoolies-so I kept going. Fished to West beach and around that small island just before it- I shoud have stayed in harbor i guess. Got some good exercise anyway. On way back I went back across channel-got off kayak and threw metal and plugs into surf on other side of North side rocks. Tore my ankle up on a slippery rock.

Jacob,
I might be in. I wanted to go out tonight but to much to do. Funny thing about Winthrop is that it is not the most scenic spot so I enjoy it at night much more than during the day.

What do you mean it's not scenic?
We have a waste water treatment plant, airplanes, oil tankers, lpg tankers, light houses and many ignorant boaters. Also we have a pleasent aroma of Methane, Chlorine Bleach, and hydrogen peroxide. Maybe the beluga whale will come back. Atleast the fishing is great in August and September.
