Newport 10/5 am

Went down to Newpy this AM for first light to look for some easy bluefishing with slightly larger fish than the Bean town variety. Hit BArrington on the way down...nada. Newport was int he lee of the wind, Thirdbeach was in your face, nada there. Second..nothin. Thought I got a glimpse of some blues at Sachusset...nope, just a horse that scared a few birds up over the water in the surf line. Around the cliff walk, nada. Kings beach..nope. Brenton pt to Castle hill, nope. In town around Ft adams and over along Thames. Nope. Jamestown bridge...nada. Get the idea?? Gave up looking by 2pm and headed home to more small bluefish in Boston.

With all the bluefish reports from RI lately, I was thinking of heading there this weekend, but sounds as if I may be too late. I'll probably hit the harbor again on Saturday.
