45+lb caught in harbor
On Friday I was out and had the pleasure of helping my friend Eric and Pete land one large hawg (45lb bass) in the harbor as well as several 15-20lb. Caught it amongst large school of bass and blues on the outside live lining maks and casting the flys. You can catch more below on fishing in the harbor this weekend and Im hoping capt. mendy will help me post the pics. Happy Fathers Day!

Missed it by that much
I rolled onto the scene just minutes after the surface feed of large bass and chopper blues ended. My sports ended up pulling in some decent bass on soft plastics after breaking off two large on live tinkers.
Sunday morning's trip yeilded plenty of schoolies on top and Mike and his son Josh, both experienced flyfishermen, had fun with them all morning. Good tides next week and the week of July 11 for fishing the harbor.
Here is a pic of Eric's big fish. I didnt see it myself unfortunately...
Mmmm. Cant seem to upload the pic. Will try again later.

Temps etc
Water temps were pretty consistent inside and out. Ranged from 55-57--the NE winds of last week really pushed in some colder water. Blues are here now so the macs wont be around for much longer...

In closer to shore the fish were pretty solid. No whoppers, but mostly legals in the mix on the bigger lures. I didn't hit the whoppers or the large.
This year's harbor fishing has been very good. Much more consistent than last year.

Agreed. Better than the last 4 or 5 years so far.
P.S. Here are the fish from that day.

Hey Dry Fly how was VT? I am headed up next week. To fish some of the small rivers/streams between the White River/Mettawee area. I was curious to how the rain has effected everything. I heard some of the small creeks got washed out in the Adirondacks, And parts of NY close to VT.
Any insight apreciated, all these big bass around sure make it hard to tie on a size 20 dry fly.

Are those real pics or a product of Photoshop?

Thanks for the pic Joe.
You must be quite a photographer--capturing a picture of slappy in the wild.
Those are some impressive haba fish Mendy. Someday I hope to get one that big. The large are doing their best to avoid me!!
