Fly swap to help Mark replace lost flies

Mark mentioned in another thread:

I lost every box of new england flies I own...

One stoddards box, a couple of good size tan boxes, one green and a couple clear ones crammed with all manner of flies. I'll never have enough time to tie up replacements over the winter, and many were special flies given to me by special people.

Anybody up for helping Mark replace those lost flies? Not actually a swap, just tie up a couple of your best flies and send 'em to Mark.

Least we can do for the guy, I'd be bummed if I didn't have RT to get me through the day while crammed into my window-less office. (Be even more depressed if I lost every fly I own...)

Let's keep it kind of informal.

I'll keep a record of flies I receive and forward everything on to Mark at the end of November. I'll be sure to let him know who tied each pattern.

C'mon, it only takes a little bit of time to tie two flies! And think of the karma you'll be building; if you lend a hand you'll never lose another fly or break another leader (honest!).

How about a homemade plug or two. Doubt I'll be near the fly tying bench in the next few weeks, but plugs I am making.

Brain Might be a good idea to have the folks that want to help to have them email you on the pattern or patterns they are willing to send. This way you dont end up alot of the same pattern.
What type of flies are you looking?

I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible and also have it wrapped up around Thanksgiving. If anyone wants to help out, tie up a couple of examples of the pattern you're most proud of and send 'em to me at the address in the first post.

Thanks for organizing this. I haven't tied any new flies since the summer and won't be hitting the bench until December at the earliest. So I have sent you a handful of flies I tied last winter plus a plug I made this fall. Unfortunately at this time of year I'm low on my flies and plugs, but I was able to dig up some decent stuff.

I have got a lot of big herring patterns I will send. I would go out of my mind if I lost all the flies I own. They are almost as important as my girlfriend and my dog are to me. I take that back, it is insulting to equate my dog to my flies.

I'm another guy that doesn't do well with deadlines, and I only really tie in the winter unless I run out of something during the season.

I mostly tie freshwater patterns but I'm not sure if Mark is a freshwater guy or not, and if so, what species he targets...
