caye caulker, belize report

spent a week on Caye Caulker and was able to fish 2 1/2 days and one full day.

Fished with Piggy Guzman for a full day-who was widely reccomended-and he was good. He was booked up and I ran into another guide-Eloy Badillo who I really, really liked. He was smart and hard working and truly enjoyed fishing. he can be reached at 501-226-0270 or badillo-eloy@yahoo.com.

The guided fishing was good,10-15 bones, some decent sized, hooked but didn't land 6-8 juvie tarpon and shots at some permit tons of jacks and snapper. Didn't have much of a chnace to explore the DIY fishing-there with the GF-but the shore fishing is tough and limited. There are kayak rentals and the tarpon, for example, are easily within kayak distance. Will be happy to answer any questions. Trying to make up for all the lurking i do here.
