surf rod line?

bought a spheros 14000 for tuna, but Im going to OBX next week and am told where Im staying has good surf casting right from the beach....I've got an old two piece surf rod Im going to put it on but was wondering what you surf fishing types recommend to spool it up with. I was thinking just some basic power pro with a 50lb leader, but is that too beefy?

I fish the surf in Nantucket every fall for a week or so. I use an 11 ft daiwa sealine X with a penn 6500 and 15 lb test mono with a 3 foot piece of 50lb. momoi fluoro. My dad uses the PP with the same leader. He caught several bluefish and I did the same, but I also bagged 2 nice bonita. I like PP, but I just can't seem to shake the habit for nice light mono. PP casts like a dream, just don't reel in any slack or you will be facing a birds nest that just sucks. My dad did it in the middle of a sick bite with the truck(and tackle) 300 yards away and guess who got stuck retying an allbright in the midst??? Not him. I'd stick with the mono to fluoro unless you are already used to the PP. Can be frustrating if you are not used to it. My experience also led me to wonder if the more elusive game fish can see the PP???
