Isla Mujeres - for Frank

Hi. I'm heading to Isla the 1st of Feb. Can you give me some advise towards gear, lures, live bait?, flys etc. Will be bringing travel spin rod(12lb test) and 8wt fly rod. Appreciate it.

i remember there were a lot of cuda around isla.mujeres...a tube lure or silver would take them...any color on the tube lure.

i never did get the bonefish there.... i could see them but they were extremely nervous on the flats by the old el.presidente hotel ruins...

the lady fish hit silver and they also hit a spinning lure that looked like a clouser in solid colors of brown, white or yellow.....

i hired a guy with a panga who took me to a spot for cuda and houndfish (like a large needlefish) they were wild....they were big and would jump...they hit about anything but i lost a lot getting cut off by nasty teeth....there were a lot of those also....i would ask around near the dock where the ferry lands and maybe someone could take you to better spots....

i hope this helps a bit....
