Help: Boston to Boca Grande - advise please

I plan to fish boca grande this coming thursday and friday. I'm coming down from boston and will be joining some customers for some deep jigging in the pass.

I'm going to bring my fly rod and hope to get some action from shore.

Toward that end, could anyone offer input as to leader, line and fly selection. This is my first shot at tarpon and I have not a clue.

I have a 9 weight sage rod that's currently loaded for stripped bass. WF intermediate sink with 15lb knoted leader.

Any input would be appreciated..thanks

adam

Adam,
I hope your trip great. I recently heard that a friend who lives on Boca was beach fishing for Snook at the beach at the Boca Condos Club house. I heard the he caught 10 snook and 1 Permit on a given day. I hope you put your 9 weight to good use on the beaches as well. Dr Joe fishes every day and is not one for exaggeration. I was told that he hasen't fished the flats for 2 weeks because the beach fishing was so good.
