Walked the beach around 4 AM and threw my tandem-hooked, internal weighted 9 inch black sluggo every 100 ft or so. Had 7-8 hits total before it got light. Most were misses, but the fish really drilled it when they decided they wanted it. Wound up catching one just-legal, one high schoolie, and dropped a nicer bass halfway in that surfaced on top a couple of times.
It all died around 5:30 AM. I kept looking for bait, breaking fish, moving fish, and working birds, but nothing doing.
Oh well, better than I've been doing in the Canal lately
