Where are the south side BLUES?

I've lived on the south side of Dennis, near Nantucket Sound for 20 years.
Like clockwork, schools of peanut bunker go swimming buy and the Bluefish school up and attack. I have a blast in my kayak and usually don't have to paddle more than 100yards off shore.
I have seen nothing this year. Today, while sitting on Inman St Beach the water looked dead.

I think the peanuts are a little behind in their development this year. I was in poppy two weeks ago and they were reeeeeaaallly small still and being chomped on by 3in blues.

Not many peanuts yet around me we have lots of butterfish.

The bluefish are out there frustrating the bonito fishermen on the typical bonito grounds. From what I've been hearing, you have to weed through a ton of bluefish to find a bonito.

Last weekend all of the usual rips were loaded with blues chasing sandeels.
