As someone who has already cracked 2 hulls, I would recommend that you buy a new hobie, 2009 model year or later.
The hulls crack when you use the turbo fins and pound the drive because you race from spot to spot. A normal user with standard fins would have a hard time cracking the hull.
Hobie replaced my hull twice free of charge, they have great warranty service. This summer it was replaced with a 2009 mode with the snap and go drive system. The snap and go is why i recommend the later model years. With this system, the drive does not rest on plastic, so I can't imagine another cracked hull--they would have saved a lot of warranty money if they had come up with this a couple years ago.
Depending on where you are planning on fishing, you should consider the revolution. It wil be faster and it will be more comfortable in bigger water.
