Tarpon ate my balls

I surf big waves and my balls drag in the water a tarpon ate them.

How big were they? Please describe their general shape and color? Were they floating or sinking at the time? (If floating, I would probably recommend deer hair; but if sinking I would think that some sort of spun wool would work better.);

Let me guess:

Hook: Owner, size 6
tail: bucktail, bleached blonde, 2 inches long, soft
body: spun wool, trimmed spherical, 1/2 inch diameter
hackle: four turns black saddle above body
thread: red
