Sag Harbor area hints please!!!

Will be bringing the family out next weekend to stay with some friend in Amoganset (sp?). Will be leaving the boat in Boston Harbor, but bringing the rods.

(You know the drill - sneak out at 5 am and be home before the wife wakes up!! After all it's a vacation right??);

Anyone out that way that could offer me a few spots for fly fishing ?? I'll only be in town for 4 days and don't want to waste the first few trying to get some info.

Any and all replies would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to reply to awisnia@pbasics.com if you don't want to make your favorite spot public domain.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Adam

RE: Sag Harbor area hints please!!!

Try very, very early or dusk at the beaches around the entrance to Three Mile Harbor or the inlet to Accabonac Harbor at the end of Gerard Drive, both in East Hampton. These are the two most basic spots for shorebound fishing in the area. You might also want to shlepp to Montauk and fish around the inlet to the harbor at the area called Gin Beach.

RE: Sag Harbor area hints please!!!

The water's a bit warm in Sag Harbor This time of season. you might want to try the ocean side. When you get into Sag, stop by Bayview Tackle opposite the Marina. Walk to the fishing section in back, and ask for Kenny. He's the man! Buy a couple of flys from him, and I'm sure he'll lead you on the right track. Also ask him if the snappers are in yet. If so, That could be fun for the kids.
