Boat down

After having the boat stall out and not able to get it restarted Sunday, I took it to the shop this morning. Just got the the call, the fuel line attachment at the tank is shot. I need a new fuel tank. This will be a very expensive fix. For the time being I'll get the boat set up to run on a portable tank while I save my nickels, dimes, and hundred dollar bills in hopes of getting it fixed over the winter.

I had the same problem with an aluminum tank. I took the tank to a welding shop and they cut out the bad area and welded on a plate with a new fitting. I got another 10 years out of the tank. If that's the only issue with the tank it might be worth looking into.

I think the deck will need to be opened to access my tank and then refiberglassed in.

That's a pretty common problem. To me it's a **** poor way to build a boat.

Sorry to hear about the boat issues Bob. These are the stories that keep me from buying a boat. But I'm getting closer.

Ray, I've had the boat for quite a few years now, and used it hard, I've gotten my money's forth out of it.
