Sanibel/Captiva/Pine Island Area Advice

I will be in Cape Coral between October 20th and October 28th and looking for some helpful information on where to fish, what type of fish will be active at this time, and lure information. I will be fishing from a kayak or canoe. I have initially thought about the area around Ding Darling Park on Sanibel as a spot.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

RE: Sanibel/Captiva/Pine Island Area Advice

You have picked the right spot to go. I live in Ft. Lauderdale on the other side of the state but have made a few trips over there. I fished in Ding Darling and did pretty well. When you drive in the park check where the culverts flow underneath the rode, ecspecially when the water is running for snook and various other species. try a white and char. clouser or something a bit more natural. I f you are spinning go with a white bucktal. I f you are in the canoe fish the mangroves for snook etc.

Have fun and tell me how it went
