I own five LP's, some back from the pre-Sage days in Western Washington where those Boeing
machinists decided to make reels with their knowledge of aircraft aluminum machining practices -
and never had a problem with any of them. I know it happens though, good freinds have told me so.
The Lamson design did not advance at all during it's ownership by Sage, perhaps because Sage had
such swanky reels to offer on the high-end at the time.

Waterworks is adding new reels to the LP line while they are honoring the unconditional (you break
it they fix or replace it) guarantee that was the first in the flyreel business. I am hoping for a...
yep.... you guessed it - LARGE ARBOR!!! Especially if it's priced around $200-$250. Wouldn't that
be sweet. Hundreds less than a Bauer, yet a solid meat and potatoes LA bar stock reel in a good price
point. Just in case, the LP-LA let's call it - should have a new clutch design ;-) (To someone's point you
can find such a reel today by buying a Teton LA)

BTW - if you need an LP clutch, any Sage rep will have a bunch of clutches in his glove compartment for a while
and will give you one free for the asking (still). Barry Beck said.

I'll have to give Waterworks a call.
