John,
Definitely be carefull about using any neat's foot oil that isn't marked as pure. I tried the type made for baseball gloves and shoes and it made my drag stick. I didn't do any permanent damage.

I looked around for pure neat's foot oil for about two years and finally found some in a leather goods supply store down in VA. It costs a couple dollars for what amounts to a lifetime supply. The name of the store is Tandy Leather Company a division of Tandycrafts and the oil was packaged under their name. The store was in Norfolk, VA, but I think it is a chain. You may want to look around for one up your way or do an internet search for them. If not give them a call at 757-855-2328 and see if they would ship a bottle to you.

Mike
