Keep trying. I think I caught my first one in the Coles around April 8 last
year. The fish there also seem to be really keyed in on herring imitations, to
the exclusion of everything else. I never seem to have much luck there on
plastic-bodied jigs (even rubber shads) or white/olive/chart Clousers, but do better
on little blueback swimming plugs, especially the RattleTrap or Slapstick,
or herring-like deceiver patterns. Then again, maybe it's just coincidence...
