I use a st croix two handed spey rod for big big flys about the size of a mature herring.Its a 10/11 weight and throws the big flys well without an awfull lot of effort.A couple backcasts will put out ninety feet of line overhand.I have yet to master the true spey cast but it could be usefull along the canal were its tough to backcast.
