Sorry to hear that your not happy. Orignally our reels did have a very small drag adjustment knob. We are now on our third iteration of the knob and have heard very positive comments about the size and adjustability. Additionally we have just released a new drag adjustment spring system that allows a more linear drag adjustment with a higher top end drag. We can send you a the new springs free of charge. If you would like the complete kit (new knob & knob housing) it is only a nominal charge of $12.00.
With regards to comments on our design. We currently are working on a new design on the Multiplier reel. It will be a one piece design and it will also feature a palming rim. We plan to introduce this reel before the end of the year. At some point in the future, after the introduction of the new Multiplier we will begin design on a new single action reel.
Regarding our future, we have been in business for over 20 years and plan on being around for a long time. Valentine Fly Reels is our fun business and a nice diversion from the bread and butter business, Valentine Tool & Stamping, Inc.
