I have a 7 1/2' 6wt rod and I have a problem with tailing loops when I cast it. I think I am overpowering the cast a bit. I was casting my new 9' 10 wt rod the other day and did not have any tailing loops. My question is, if I went to a longer (9') 6wt rod, would I be less likely to overpower the rod due to the extra length? Would it feel more like the 10 wt due to length, or the 6wt due to line size? I do notice a huge difference in feel with the extra length.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
