I have followed your postings on lamson, teton/tioga and bar stock reels and found
the subsequent discussions very interesting. After looking at a lot of flyreels in every
price range, I have come to conclusions based on a pseudo-engineering perspective
and limited experience similar to what you have written. My collection of fly reels
consist of a lamson LP4, a tioga 4 and 6. Personally, I consider the the tiogas to
be equal to the lamson in all the ways that are important to me such as performance,
durability and pleasing aesthetics. However, when factoring in cost, the tiogas
surge convincingly above the lamson. From some of your earlier postings, you favor
the lamson over the tioga. I would like to hear what you consider to be the
faults of the tioga that may have influenced your choice.
