Does anyone use DT lines esp. Floating for the salt? Theoretically one should be
able to airialize more line with a DT rather than a WF. But I guess they don't
shoot as well, but mend better. Typical tradoff kindof thing here, obviously you
would be able to carry less backing. My thought being the longer contious belly of
the DT would carry more energy to the tip and help casting into the wind vs. the
smaller diameter running line of a WF. This is assuming you've cast more than 40ft
and the head is all the way out on the WF. I have found bucking a head wind, once
the belly of my WF is out, the cast deteriorates pretty quicky and shooting line
doesn't buy me much extra distance into the wind. The only thing I can think of which
might cause an issue would be that with say 60 feet of line out, you'd be pushing
a lot of grains of line through the air, would it actually be double the rating?
I know this is kindof an oddball question, I just though ping you guys on it...
