Yeah, I know I'm over anal-izing the situation, You definitely hit the nail
on the head in terms of the casting out too much running line. It's just that
the cast before it all goes wrong (control is lost) feels so good, I have to take
another and the extra effort at keeping all the line in the air and slows the line.
Experience will fix that(hopefully).
re-the wind:
I still think the energy of the higher moving mass would help maintain control into the wind.
and the wind resistance would be the same as the head of the WF.
This is all pretty much academic anyway as the fish are generally at your feet.
I just thought it might be fun to get a DT Floater and see how it works.
(as a second line) Plus it gives me a reason to wrap a two-hander next year.
"I've already got the line so it'll be cheaper" :-)
Thanks for the thoughtfull response
Dave
For the as yet to be completed RPLX, I'm gonna go with either the
Rocky autographed airflo or some simple shooting heads with a level running
line to keep me out of trouble.
