the last few mornings i've noticed more and more bass responding to chum. but, put a hook in the bait, forget it. throw a handful of chum out, it looks like the trout hatchery at feeding time. i found that by downsizing hooks and line it helps somewhat. maybe we al lare chumming too much. i've see some guys throwing large amounts of chum for the whole tide. i don't think that holds fish, only feeds them and even educates them.
