I have been fishing the Cape all of my life and never met anyone who chums regularly. I tried it last fall with small menhaden for bonito...I tried whole, chopped,smushed...a few, a lot. These were fresh baits and I was chumming in Lambert's Cove where there were occasional pods of bonito breaking. Zip...I never had any come close. Of course this only fed into my love/hate relationship with bonito. Any tips on chumming would be greatly appreciated... particularly how long should one expect to wait until the fish to start jumping into the boat. Also chumming for bass and blues.
