I prefer to fly fish but often times I use dead Mackerel or Herring as bait. I was just wondering how everyone used them. I use strips (just cut a strip the length of the side) and I like this because you get two strips from each fish and it also has great movement in the water adn I think gives off some scent because of the open side of the fish. I have used whole fish which is OK. Recently I saw someone who just cut off the head and tail and used the middle section. I just wanted to know what everyone else likes to do and what they think the best way is. Thanks.
