I've been using the whole fish. Hooked from the bottom to the top of the jaw.
Kept on the bottom with 1-2 oz of lead. Seems to work OK. Not many hits, but its
usually a big one. Have caught a 40" and 32 so far.
The crabs make mince meat out of em real quick though, so bring enough!
