OK - 2 questioners in a week, so here goes.
I call it Wacky bay for a couple reasons; first to kind of disguise it just a teeny bit from the random pass-by who sees a couple reports and immediately jumps on with "How do I get to Waquoit Bay - what area is it in?".
Second because there is something about fish in the channel and the outskirts of the channel that drive people screaming yellow bonkers. Sure - in bonito season there's the usual cast of suspects charging around, but should a poor school of 18" bass or 14" bluefish make their appearance then every boat going through has to take their best shot. And some of those shots to my eyes at least, are pretty darned wacky.
Third - its home to a fleet of serious go-fast cigarrete boats who really cant wait that extra 100 yards till they clear the jetties before they open up the twin 450's; wide.
Finally- I have seen some pretty entertaining noice shore fishing from both sides of the jetty including entire rods and reels cast upon the waters.
Don't get me wrong; its my shopping spot; my goto place when all else fails.
but it sure does have some good entertainment at times.
