Well you might notice that my e-mail address has a funny ending on it, that's because I'm writing this from Australia. Now you might be wondering why on earth an Australian would be interested in what is going on in your particular neck of the woods on the East Coast, and really, I don't blame you!! I'm 23 years of age, and have been married for one month (to an American, of course!). I started fishing when I was old enough to hold a rod, and grew up catching things such as salmon (not like yours at all), tailor (which are your bluefish), mulloway, bream and so forth off of the beaches over here. Unfortunately though, saltwater flyfishing in the surf hasn't really taken off here as yet, in fact saltwater flyfishing over here is way behind what a lot of you guys are doing over there every weekend, and then some!! So I guess that I'm just trying to learn what I can, much the same as the rest of you. I came across this forum quite by accident, but have had a great time over the last few months reading what you guys have to say, and then trying to think of how they might be applicable to what I might be able to do over here in Australia. Why I've been following your particular forum though is because my wife went to Smith, and has a lot of friends and relatives in the Connecticut area, so next time we're visiting that way, I would really like to fish some of the waters that I read so much about!! I guess that in the future, I'll be more of a lurker and question asker, but if you have any questions at all about what we do over here (let me add here that I am only just getting into SWFF myself!) or if you are planning a visit and would like some info, or maybe someone to visit, then please e-mail me, I'd love to hear from you.
