My name is Rick Ripley. I have been a lurker for a couple of weeks and want to thank everyone for some great info. I read about fishing behind the Marine Maritime Academy, went there and caught a lot of small, but strong, fish. It was great.
I live in Sharon, Massachusetts, (44 miles to Buzz bay) but got hooked on the salt at a young age plug fishing for blues on plum Island. I have been flyfishing heavy duty for the past 3 years, in both fresh and salt water. I have never caught a keeper, Bluefish, Bonito, or Albie on a fly. I can't wait to do all of the above.
I am 38 years old, married with a 2 year old son, and another baby expected around Sept.10. ( yes I realize from reading reel-time that this is prime time!) I do not have a salt water boat. I am forced to wade or float tube. My best fish on a fly was two 22 inch rainbows on the Deerfield River last June. I have caught approx. 75 stripers this year, none bigger than 22 inches.
I will keep reading reel-time and casting for hungry salt water fish. When I get my first Bonito I will tell all on this site. Thanks again.
