ATLANTIC SALMON STOCKED - MORE ON THE WAY
The White River National Fish Hatchery is making adult female Atlantic salmon
available for stocking in Massachusetts' lakes. Sixty salmon were split
between Lake Mattawa in Orange and Comet Pond in Hubbardston recently and
1,000 more fish are on their way for stocking statewide in December. These
fish are over 5 years old and weigh an average of 11 pounds! The largest
weigh-in at an eye-popping 25 pounds! So oil your reel and make sure you
have plenty of backing before trying your luck with one of these trophies.
