"So...I am going to store my motor in a vertical position from now on whenever feasible. I am also going to have another dealer look into this in the spring. It continues to smell of a design flaw and I will press it after I and another dealer take a look

at it more thoroughly. I am also going to call me seller dealer and have a talk about all this. Unfortunately, its a 4 hour drive up to his place to have him look at it. (There are definitely disadvantages to not buying locally.)
"

This is all well and good in the driveway but how can you store a motor vertically on a mooring or dock?

My motor did not experience any weeping for 2.75 years of hard use; then started weeping in Sept. I'll buy that after 6 months of use, perhaps mine started weeping a bit as I did bang the heck out of the boat in early Sept anyways.

However - if yours is new - it really should not have this problem.
